As a Senior UX practitioner in our studio, you’ll be expected to plan and execute design activities such as information architecture, information and interaction design, visual design, content audits, user / task flow analysis and customer journey mapping. Demonstrating experience of this is essential.
You will be required to work with design researchers, visual designers and front-end developers as well as copywriters and strategists. Demonstrating experience of working with these disciplines is essential.
You will be responsible for representing the end-user’s voice in the design process. You’ll need to be able to show how you’ve taken customer insight from a live brief (gathered through primary research), and how you used it to adapt or change the direction of your design thinking.
As an experienced designer, you’ll be used to hitting deadlines and budgetary constraints, whilst working to the expected level of quality. As a Senior Designer you’ll be asked to support the costing and planning activity of design deliverables, report on the status of such deliverables to the wider business and notify them of any risks or issues.
Others will look to you for leadership, and you’ll also be expected to help others learn through doing. As part of a project team, you’ll need to represent the team’s work, and communicate the ideas and rationale that have informed their design approach.
You’ll also support our account teams by helping them generate demand for your skills, getting involved in new business projects and pitches where needed.
This role involves managing and mentoring less-experienced practitioners. You will do this under the guidance of Principal Designers. Allowing you to draw on their exceptional experience to lead and inspire the creative teams you work with to achieve measurable success.

You’ll be encouraged to write and speak publicly, so that you can add your voice to the discussion about our emerging field of design.
You are a design thinker who is able to plan and execute design activities and influence important design decisions within your project. You take responsibility for the quality of your thinking and deliverables on the projects you work on, and anyone else you are leading on it.
You continually challenge yourself to think creatively, improve the standard of your work and broaden the skills you already have, through training and development in and outside of project work.
You will have a natural sense of ownership and accountability. You will often be assigned a quality assurance role within projects, so you need a sharp eye for detail. You understand that critique – both giving it and getting it – is at the heart of creating powerful, effective design.
You’ll have a commercial awareness that naturally leads you towards lean, creative ways to understand and solve design problems. That will also mean you’re keen to try new tools and techniques to create value for Foolproof and its clients. You’ll need to show a long-standing commitment to your field, so you’ll have at least a bachelor’s degree (or something equivalent) in design or creative arts.
